Sometimes, it's nice to look pretty, you know? Sexy has its place, sophisticated has its place, and pretty also has its place in the long life of a gal's wardrobe. Nicole Kidman here, pictured for the first time in public since the TomKat split (and good on her for laying low) is at a function for Omega and wears a lovely black dress with a skater style skirt, lacy black booties and lets the watch (of course) take centre stage on her frock.

But it's the hair that wins the moment. Softly curled and clipped over to one side, it's almost the hairstyle of a young girl and that's how it makes her look. Then there's dazzling earrings, which I don't think we (and I mean we, as in we women as a whole),  take enough advantage of. Why wouldn't we wear long, bejewelled earrings whenever we could? There are certainly enough amazing, affordable ones on offer and they're one of the only things we can wear fakes of without appearing cheap.
