Madonna Rules, okay?

Can we all please take a moment to really consider just how fantastic Madonna is?

I mean, she's over 50 and she's still going strong. Others would have quit long ago, and I'm not saying this isn't perhaps a good idea for the Material Girl but you have to admire her sheer strength, her tenacity and her ability to reinvent herself even in this digital age. Quite the stayer.

I love that she still takes risks with fashion, and hasn't settled into the "I'm over 50, I should forget miniskirts, anything sheer and anything too fashiony" rule, like lots of stars do. So she might not always come across as age appropriate, who cares? The point is we talk about her, as she wants us to. And I love how she still wears sleeveless dresses and outfits like this, even though she gets totally bagged out for her muscular arms.

Just a point: have you seen most 50-year-old arms? What would you prefer - saggy and wobbly or tight and toned like Madge here? I know which I'd take - in a second!

She is bringing IT in this outfit. Totally bringing it. A mini vest with the best lace waist corset I have EVER seen and matching pinstripe pants, with a waist to ankle chain? I mean, come ON! Lady Gaga could only dream she was this good.

Hi Lisa, no problemo, I think you missed though that I was also saying how great it is she doesn't hide herself away, not the opposite, which is perhaps what you thought I was saying. I think she's just damn fabulous, full stop. It's society who poses age limitations and restrictions and I love how she seemingly effortlessly rebuffs them xx

I agree with you Nedahl, I think she looks awesome. And the work she had done on her face seems to have calmed down a little. I don't find her arms offensive at all. Imagine how great her bone density is !

Sorry Nedahl, I didn't mean to be so mean!! I know I came across as angry...I suppose I am... :) I also had a sense of the incredulous as Madonna just went on and on...there was a sense she was meant to finish, or even be embarrassed, because she was getting 'old'. Actually, I think she has shown women what is possible...that is okay to continue to grow as an artist ...I like her much more now than in her youth, she has more substance. <3

Er, why should a 50-year-old woman hide herself away / give up a career? Would you expect a 50 year old man to stop doing what he does? Didn't think so. It seems you are still stuck in the days where airline hostesses had to be 25 years old, and women gave up their jobs when they got married. Newsflash: women don't have use-by dates. They are 'allowed' to show themselves in public / be successful / continue their careers until they drop dead! Thank you Madonna, for making this reality clear for all the women hater out there (including the female women haters lol)

My 60 year old mum has better arms.. toned and slim but right for a 60 year old.

Yes she looks amazing but way too butch! The outfit plus the muscles are a bit much, she looks so much better when she wears something feminine to soften her look.
