Oscars 2010 after parties - Heidi Klum at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party

I can't believe I'm about to say this about Heidi Klum but ... I think she could have chosen something more flattering. Aaaagh. I can't believe I just said that! I'm horrible! But it's true. She needs a bigger size dress. No shame in that. Time to wake up and smell that dirty nappy Heidi, you might be a teensy bit bigger than you were pre-baby which is TOTALLY FINE. You've had four kids and you're superwoman to look the way you do!

I'm not sure why women get hung up on squeezing into a certain size. I worked in retail through uni and people would be quite put off if you suggested a bigger size to try on. Thing is, all clothes are made differently, so even if you're one size in one label you might be a smaller or bigger size in another. I've done a heap of stories on The Size Debate for women's mags and because there's been no size review in Australia since 1914 or some year equally as ancient, the shops pretty much have free reign to do what they like. Some women even cut out the sizes from their dresses to make themselves feel better about things.

But what I've discovered is this: sometimes, and only sometimes, but especially when you're about five kgs heavier than you normally are like Heidi is, it's better to go a size up. Bigger women look better with tight clothes but smaller women look better with a roomier size, if they're trying to look slimmer. Honest. I've done this a bazillion times. I spent years trying to get slimmer to fit into the size 8 pants but then I tried a 10 on and voila! Much more flattering than something with not quite enough fabric around the ass.

Anyway, Heidi doesn't look bad. Far far far far FAR from it. The dress is bloody incredible and she looks amazing in it. I'm just building my argument for sizes on this picture 'cause we don't normally see her with any curves and I bet if she'd had the balls to wear a bigger size, we still wouldn't have seen them.

My advice? Forget about the size of your clothes and focus on how you feel in them.

Sorry to say it but I can't stand Heidi for some reason. She's terrible in Project Runway and I for one would be so much happier if VB replaced her! She wears things that are so not appropriate for her.

A simple pair of spanx would have sorted this out for her! I can't believe she has negected every post-baby woman's must have item! Suck that tummy right in!
