Claudia Schiffer, pregnant and lovely
Friday, March 05, 2010 AT 2:02 AM

This outfit just goes to show that just because most of fashion is saying one thing - structured, sharp shoulders, pencil skirts, blazers, black, grey etc etc, doesn't mean that you can't go your own way. Still dark and wintery, this printed dress looks cosy and comfy but ever so stylish, especially with thick, woollen tights and her fabulous patchwork Balenciaga bag.

What to learn from this outfit:

1. Choose your fabric wisely. A printed dress in a quality fabric looks so much better than one in a cheap fabric. See Paris Hilton, below, for an example of cheap printed fabric.

2. Tights are going to be your best friend this winter. We'll have some on sale at Coco Lee, so look out for them.

3. Wear what is going to suit you for the moment. Claudia looks ravishing while pregnant and she's going her own way, striking out in something that might not be the hottest look of the season, but really suits her, and she's kept it fresh by adding the coloured tights. Remember this while shopping. Just 'cause thigh-high boots and big shoulders are in this season, will they work on your body? Be realistic and make decisions based on what suits you. It's often better to wear something that gives a token nod to a trend, while the crux of the outfit is not trend based at all. How can you incorporate accessories like coloured tights into your current wardrobe to update it? Cheaper, and it might suit you more!
