There's one thing Kate Bosworth does well 100% of the time (besides not eat Magnum Big Bikkies, that's obvious). And it's the way she puts together an outfit that looks effortlessly chic. Like she hasn't tried at all. Simply gone to her closet, calmly selected dress A, matched it with clutch B, slipped into shoe C and then left the house, going through none of the palaver the rest of us go through when deciding what to wear.
I've decided it comes down to her purchases. Case in point: this apricot dress. It's pretty much a basic but it's the slight details that make a difference. The crushed, slightly stiff fabric, the soft colour, the gentle shape on the shoulder giving a nod to the big shoulder trend, the nipped in waist and the swaying skirt. Yes, it's a basic, but how well is it made? So well. This is an investment dress.
The other thing that makes it all look so easy for Kate is because she's so well groomed. Her skin is glowing. Her hair is done. Her nails are bare which (if you didn't know) is the new polish. Her makeup is subtle but definitely there.
All together it spells understated luxury. I think only certain girls can carry this look off and I don't think I'm one of them. I'd like to be, but I definitely don't spend as much time at the hairdressers or getting microdermabrasion as much as I should. I do love it on other people though!
