Most Interesting at the Kids's Choice Awards
Monday, March 25, 2013 AT 2:26 PM

Willow Smith, I have newfound respect for you. I recently read that she of Whip It fame, told her dad that she didn't want to go to New York and be in a production of Annie. When Will tried to talk her round, she said "how about I just be a 12-year-old girl for a while?" Yup. A 12-year-old with more sense than her father. He, thankfully, backed down and let her skip work. To uh, go to school. Besides that, I think she looks totally cute at the Kid's Choice Awards. We're on your side Willow!

Ke$ha. At least she's not into 'garbage chic' anymore. This is quite respectable.

When you have legs like Kristen Stewart, it's hard to get out of shorts. The sleeves create the perfect balance to this thigh high pair.

Lately, it seems KP is all about her bustline. Peek-a-boo styles or plain cleavage-enhancing tops like this here bustier. John Mayer wouldn't have anything to do with that now, would he?

Love the print Alba, but I think it could have been shorter. You're at the Kid's Choice Awards, live it up a little!

Ms Selena Gomez in a frou frou, light blue top, shorts, and leopard print heels. Tres cute. Just like her.

Rita Ora in Japan
Thursday, March 21, 2013 AT 11:34 AM

When in Rome ... right? Rita Ora dresses like a Pokemon (or what she thinks one would look like if it were a real, live girl) while touring in Japan. Cute, non?

It's called dressing for the occasion, and occasionally in theme.

I know a fashion stylist who always dresses for the country she's in. When she was going on safari to Africa, she took lots of khaki shirts and shorts. When she was holidaying on a friend's yacht, everything was blue and white striped. She really takes it seriously. I'm not sure I'd buy particularly sailor-y clothes for a boat trip, but maybe if I was Rita Ora and I was bouncing around on stage, I too would like to pay homage to a hugely successful part of Japanese culture in a puff-ball, pom pom dress. You?

Game of Thrones, series three - Sibel Kekilli
Wednesday, March 20, 2013 AT 4:03 PM

This is the perfect dress to wear to the premiere of the new season of Game of Thrones, is it not? Sibel Kekilli is soft and ethereal and so gorgeously feminine. She looks as though she'll waft wistfully through the premiere without a foot barely touching the ground. Beautiful.

Have you watched Game of Thrones? If you haven't, I suggest you run, don't walk, and download/ buy the DVDs/ get your hands on the first series asap. It's incredible. Quite possibly the best show to ever get on television. I had the first two series and was watching two - three eps a night, that's how addictive it is. AMAZING.

And now series 3 is almost here I'm beside myself with excitement. It's like a cross between Lord of the Rings and Gossip Girl. That won't make sense til you see it. Stop reading, go get it.

How much do stars get paid to go to fashion events?
Tuesday, March 19, 2013 AT 11:22 AM

I have always wondered this! How, exactly how do fashion labels get all the cool young stars to go to their fashion parties. You know the crew: Rachel Bilson, Kate Bosworth, Jessica Alba, and especially Camilla Belle, who I've never seen in a movie but god have I seen her work a red carpet!Answer:...Read More

How to dress dowdy, by Jennifer Garner
Tuesday, March 12, 2013 AT 4:06 PM

1. Take a dress that's a touch too big and a touch too long. Make it finish on the knee, instead of just above. Make it not fitted so it swings loose around your hips. 2. Choose it in a nanna print. 3. Ensure it has a high neckline. V-necks just will not do. 4. Invest in a pair of ankle strap shoes...Read More

Selena Gomez, Rachel Korine and Ashley Benson
Tuesday, March 12, 2013 AT 3:55 PM

Cheer up, Spring Breakers, and wipe those pouts off your faces. Don't you know you're movie stars? You're young, you're gorgeous and you're all in fabulous dresses to boot! What's with the drab looks?

Oh, I get it.

You hate each other. You can't stand being in the same room as each other, but these goddamned photo calls and promo tours for the movie just keep on happening. It's like seeing your high school enemy all day for five weeks.

Or you're tired. Sure, I get that. Posing for pictures really takes it out of you.

Yawn.

Loving Selena's bustier and skirt combo, she's really cracked 'how to wear a midriff', hasn't she!

Emma Stone at The Croods premiere in LA
Tuesday, March 12, 2013 AT 3:48 PM

This little lady has been a star on the red carpet recently, and this Lanvin frock is no exception. Complicated, textured, with a million different components, it somehow works to create a cohesive look. Yes, even with the necklace.

Should she have worn a nude shoe? I have issues with nude shoes in general at the moment, but especially a closed-toed on uber pale legs. It just makes the shoe look insipid. Like a non-shoe. I think she could have sparkled it up with a four-season's-old YSL, strappy star shoe.

You?

Gwyneth Paltrow's leather look
Tuesday, March 12, 2013 AT 11:21 AM

Gwyneth Paltrow is her sleek best in black leather leggings and a loose black top, with super-awesome-cool booties that complete the look perfectly.

It's a simple combo, and it works.

If you're planning to invest in leather this season (and if I were you, I totes would if you haven't already), I would most definitely recommend tight leggings or pants. I know that a lot of magazines and blogs have been flaunting baggy leather pants as the NBT but quite honestly, they're rather unflattering.

Even if you are a serious fashionista and end up on street style blogs all the time because of your unique style, you still look bad in them. Yes, they're cool, but they're not flattering.

This blog is about making you look your best, not so fashiony that you look awful. So take heed when buying leather and don't get caught up in the saleslady's spiel.

Pixie Lott does all-white
Monday, March 11, 2013 AT 11:30 AM

It's about mixing polished jacket with a super short pair of shorts. January Jones has done it, below, and now Pixie Lott shows off an all-white outfit. Had she not been wearing the jacket, it would have been rather boring. But the jacket brings a certain amount of style and sophistication, does it not?

Time to invest in a 3/4 length coat-style jacket that will swing happily over a mini or a pair of shorts. Make it tailored and keep things matching for this look.

Elizabeth Olsen at Louis Vuitton
Friday, March 08, 2013 AT 10:48 AM

Elizabeth Olsen is wearing one of those coats I would never be comfortable in. It belongs, if you like, to a certain class of women. One who takes private jets and lunches with princesses before retiring to one's private island.

It's the kind of coat that says "Look, I'm trying to play down my ultimate wealth, but if you must know, I'm RICH RICH RICH! I like to be ostentatious in the most offendingly subtle ways. That's just how I roll."

Something about the shine and the monogram and the stiffness of the fabric which doesn't fit well or look comfortable or even flush one with warmth. It's all together a non-coat in my opinion.

Am I reading too much into a coat? I think not. We are what we wear.
