Cara Delevigne at Cannes
Friday, May 17, 2013 AT 11:08 AM

Seeing Cara, first at the Met Ball and now at Cannes, makes me wonder why we don't all walk around in long sleeved black dresses with deep v necklines, all of the time. In fact, why are any other dresses ever made? Clearly, this is the most flattering style a gal can wear. Oh sure, you might say, Cara isn't the first woman to wear a long sleeved black dress. There was Morticia, after all.

But dearest Cara has found this modern interpretation of the long black dress and is developing it into her signature evening style.

Others have tried before her and not fared so well. But here she encapsulates total glamour absolutely perfectly. Do you love it?

Chanel Cruise Collection 2013
Saturday, May 11, 2013 AT 11:02 AM

I love the Cruise shows by Chanel. Usually held in South France, they're fun and full of vigour and energy that you don't get to see in a normal show. This time Karl Lagerfeld based his collection on all things colonial, and as such, held the show in an old nutmeg plantation in Singapore. Naturally, this allowed the Australian fashion press to attend.

Quote of the day, when asked by WWD about nitty gritty details like accurate historical references he said "You don't get into the details, you reinvent the details."

But of course! Only KL could get away with that. Bloody genius.

P.S. I know I was away for the Met Ball this week! Quelle horreur! And I can't post about it now because everywhere I look there are Met Ball pics and no doubt you've seen them 50 million times already. But do know that I loved Anne Hathaways's blonde hair and think that Madonna and SJP really know how to get into a theme, and that Gwyneth should have gone home the moment she arrived in that SO pink and SO not punk Givenchy dress, no wonder she had an awful time (she told the Post she was never going again), and that Nicole Richie gets many style points for dying her hair grey and Miley Cyrus gets none for her spiky 'do and that Cara Delevigne's spikes n' studs n' braids won the night along with surprise attendee Sienna Miller and that Katie Holmes should put away the white dresses for a very long time before she gets herself into another husband situation and that the Olsens stole the show and that Anja Rubik and Gisele looked amazing but Elizabeth Banks dived and that just because Miranda can wear practically a swimsuit as an evening dress doesn't mean she should and that yes, Kimmy K looked like a couch but can we all stop bagging on Kimmy K 'cause she's pregnant and hormonal and is obviously making bad fashion choices but clearly has lost her mind and that even though this was the one opportunity for Nicki Minaj to dress in costume she chose to dress normally and that Taylor Swift looked good and grown up for once and that perhaps, this is the best fashion night of the year.

There. Summarised. Had to get it out somehow!

Keira Knightley's wedding dress!
Monday, May 06, 2013 AT 10:57 AM

Keira Knightley got married in France on the weekend, wearing the cutest, short frock designed by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel. It had a matching jacket and she accessorised with a delicate flower wreath in her hair.

Before you go nutso about the short factor, remember that the law in France requires that you get married at a local town hall first, for the official legal business, then you can do what you like for the afters. A friend of mine got married in France and wore a white pant suit to the town hall, then got changed into her frock for the big wedding.

Keira and new hubby James Righton will be following up their official wedding with a celebration at Keira's farmhouse in Provence. How heaven.

Do you like it?

Gwyneth flashes her side butt
Friday, April 26, 2013 AT 10:41 AM

You heard it right. First there was side boob, now there is side butt. And Gwynnie, she of the iron hard thighs, is pioneering the trend.

She wears an Antonio Beradi gown which is beautifully classic from the front, just with sheer panelling to give you a hint of what's to come.

Then she turns to the side ...

... and shazam! We're hit with Gwyneth's entire leg, from ankle to waist, giving a teensy tiny hint of a butt curve. Not enough to be called trashy of course, she does it as she does everything else, with enormous amounts of class. It's just enough to increase heartbeats and raise the temperature of the room a degree or two.

Wouldn't you hate to be in a movie with Gwyneth? No matter how hard you tried, you could never outdo her at the premieres. Maybe that's why she and Anne Hathaway have never been in anything together! Poor Anne has enough trouble tempering her jealousies with Amanda Seyfried let alone Ms Perfect Paltrow.

Surely this is enough to make us all order Tracey Anderson videos now?

Victoria Beckham and family do some sightseeing in Paris
Monday, April 22, 2013 AT 11:20 AM

Say what you like about Victoria Beckham, but her relentless dedication the art of wearing  heels has to be admired.

These pointy-toed, giant stilettos must be among the most uncomfortable in the business, and couldn't be doing great things for her bunion, but dear darling Vicky has chosen to wear them to the Louvre.

Let me repeat that, the Louvre.

Where you walk around for hours admiring artworks, relics and which is most normally done in trainers. Perhaps thongs if you're visiting Paris in the summer. But sky high heels? Only the professional heel wearers can do that. And Vicky, of course, is the leader of that pack.

Guess who? Hint: She used to wear a red swimsuit

Yes, it's Pamela Anderson!

Behind the 50 layers of spray tan. Or was that real?

Would you have known it was her?

Beyonce's tour outfits
Wednesday, April 17, 2013 AT 2:43 PM

Queen B's tour kicked off in Russia last night. WHY IS SHE NOT COMING TO AUSTRALIA? Maybe we should start some kind of petition. I realised how much I loved her yesterday when Crazy in Love came on MTV and my daughter and I danced around the living room together. Well, I danced like a nutter and she looked at me as if to say "What the hell is my mum doing?" You're never too young to be introduced to Beyonce.

What the stars wore to Coachella 2013
Monday, April 15, 2013 AT 12:29 PM

Coachella. It's my favourite time of year. Sunnier than Glastonbury, more celebrities than Splendour, everyone is joyful and happy and looks like they're full of brightness and sunshine. It's also a great time to perve on what to wear to the festivals coming up in our hemisphere.

First up, Rita Ora, looking colourful in a maxi skirt and loose tee. Cute, non?

Katy Perry in a midriff and mini. And are they wedges? I would ditch the wedges at a music festival. How are you supposed to walk for hours in heels? Or does Katy Perry have a chariot?

Nick and Joe Jonas hang out with Alessandra Ambrosio and Anna-Sophia Robb, who looks completely adorable with the wreath in her hair and those amazing flower sunnies. Pick the model. I don't even consider Alessandra's clothes to be an outfit, it's one of those I-have-an-amazing-body-so-I'm-going-to-wear-miniscule-clothes-and-look-hot outfits. There's no style in that.

Alexa Chung, who unfortunately looks like she's off to a political event protesting the rule of Margaret Thatcher, not a music festival California. Maybe that's where she thought she was flying to, and that's the only thing she packed, so she quickly bought some pink sunnies to make up for her lack of colour.

Diane Kruger rocking her (puss-in) boots with a tee and Aztec shorts.

Santigold in some kind of caped dress and leopard trainers.

Sophia Bush in pyjama pants with leopard loafers.

Lindsay Lohan jokes about thieving the dress she wears on David Letterman
Thursday, April 11, 2013 AT 11:50 AM

That's her, above, leaving the studio. And I just watched the whole 14 minute interview.

I know! But she actually made me like her again.

I'm rooting for Lindsay. I want her to get healthy and start being the Lindsay we saw in Mean Girls because that is still one of my favourite movies of all time.

Below is what she wore to arrive at Letterman, then of course she wears a fabulous dress to the actual interview, in which she was entertaining! Letterman asked her all sorts of questions she didn't want to answer, but she did it graciously and it showed courage. Sure, she has a lot of Botox or fillers or something, but still, entertaining and ... vulnerable somehow. I'm on her side for the minute. Watch, if you're a Mean Girls devotee like me.

Front row at Fashion Week, day Two
Wednesday, April 10, 2013 AT 11:26 AM

That's Phoebe Tonkin, above, Aussie star of the Vampire Diaries, in mighty short shorts and a jumper. Love.

Blogger Susie Bubble at Ellery.

Pip Edwards, who changes her outfit for each show.

Pretty as a picture, Nicole Warne.

Kate Waterhouse in head to toe designer (of course, dah-ling).

Jennifer Hawkins. I want her to get new hair soon. Imagine a short, sharp bob that was longer in the front and super straight. Hot.

Laura Dundovic, love the bright lippie.
